Trois Rivieres

A much smaller, quieter city than Montreal, Trois Rivieres was named for the 3 channels of the St Maurice River that flow into the
St Lawrence .  It was and still is a lumber, pulp and paper town with a river port .
It's religious history includes a congregation of cloistered nuns from 1697- The Ursulines
They ran a covent , school and hospital and some of the buildings are still standing .

  2. Wowee! That's sure not like our BC pulp & paper towns - ie Kitimat, Ocean Falls, Woodfibre!! It looks as historic as Montreal but with a slower pace - so lovely ☺
