Gander, Gambo and Terra Nova National Park

Stopped in Gander to visit the Museum of Aviation. Really well done exhibits explaining the history of this once very important aviation hub for transatlantic refuelling. Also played a huge role in World War II transporting fighter jets.

Drove by the airport to see its size - amazing that this tiny airport landed 38 jets on that fateful day Sept 11,2001
Driving the TCH ,as they call it here, was a little rough at times- lots of these signs 😮

Had a home cooked lunch at Gill's Grill in Gambo - no dinner required after that feed!

Joey Smallwood (1900-1991) Memorial- the father of Newfounfland's Confederation- born in Gambo

On to Terra Nova National Park where we hiked the very scenic Coastal Trail
