Quebec City

An amazing two days exploring Quebec City
and surrounding area.  We absolutely loved Old Quebec, upper and lower. The only walled city north of Mexico!
We had a very interesting tour of the Citadel - fascinating military history!! Still an active military base for the 22nd Regiment. And of course walked around the Plains of Abraham-
the home of the  most crucial 20 minute battle in Canadian history.
Our campground host suggested a great bike ride to QC that we really enjoyed- over a bridge one way and return on a ferry across the St Lawrence.  Rode through a pretty little town across from QC  named Levis . The 15 km path along the St Lawrence was excellent and very scenic. πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

  5. Amazing to see the number and grandeur of those churches! Imagine the time and money spent erecting those buildings. and no doubt the cost to maintain them now. Such an "old world" feel to all of the buildings and streets (at least in the pics you shared) and incredible hours of manpower to build that wall!
