Upper Canada Village

Spent the afternoon touring this very authentic
1840's rural village.  Super interesting to see how the wool, wheat and lumber were milled.
They were all there: baker, cheese maker, broommaker, dressmaker, shoemaker and tinsmith! All using original equipment and powered by turbines. The products are all sold in the gift shop.
Learned a lot and gained even more respect for our forefathers and country pioneers.

Ontario has been incredible- on to Quebec!

  1. How cool that they've maintained the equipment so that it is still useable. So interesting to be able to put yourself in the shoes of the pioneers! It looks kind of like Burnaby's Heritage Village on a grander scale.

  2. I love to see all the old history still standing and as it once was ... back then so useful and now as useful in a different way :) I love their cabins/homes and work places... going back into history IMO is the best way to really learn about it and to feel how it truly was! :) great shots!! TY ;) :)
