Elk Island National Park

Arrived in Elk Island National Park around 730 pm to discover the campground is closed but free Winter camping available in parking lot. Turns out it's a little early for the Albertans to be camping.

This is the only completely fenced National Park and it serves as a conservation and refuge area for Plains Bison and Wood Bison.

  2. Good thing you have Waldo (so lonely-looking in the parking lot) and weren't tenting!! Beautiful location - I can imagine it would be a great place for camping in the summer.
