Saskatchewan

After two days of driving across the prairies we have a hard time understanding why people say there is nothing to see here. Maybe it is the season or the weather but we found it to be beautiful in its own way with the varied green grasses, the canola and flax fields and the blue wide open sky.

Regina had a beautiful park surrounding Wescana Lake with a great multipurpose pathway so we took the opportunity for a bike ride. Around the lake we saw the University of Regina, The Parliament building, and a water fowl sanctuary.

Between Moosejaw and Swift Current lies Chaplin Lake- a salt water,18 mile long,lake .
The lake is mined for sodium sulphite but it is also a bird conservation area- 100,000 shorebirds migrate there each spring.



Camped in Gull Lake ,SK. Small farming town, when we asked where the lake is, the campground host answered "there really isn't a lake you can go to".  After dinner bike tour:
