Westward through Ontario

Travelling west now via Highway 17
We stopped in North Bay for a bike ride along the Kate Pace Way(Retired Alpine Skier), took in views of  Lake Nipissing and met the Shadfly- swarms of them!! This just happened to be the short 2 week period they are in town-
Fortunately they are mouthless insects 👍

Many Canola fields west of North Bay

Camped just outside of Blind River - ML's birthplace

A very beautiful and placid Dean Lake west of Blind River

Ultra patriotic Motel in Iron Bridge

Lake Superior Provincial Park
Stopped for a beach walk at Old Woman Bay in honour of ML's birthday 😂

Gorgeous spot for dinner and overnight @Penn Lake Campground

Followed Hwy 11 west to Fort Frances  on the shores of Rainy Lake. We stopped for gas and a quick walk down Main Street- loved their sidewalks!

Next heading North on Hwy 71- wow Ontario is huge!!

    1. i know for fact that they make excellent flies for lake fishing ;)) LOL... other than that ?! they are also known as mayflies or duns for fishing... they are very shortlived once they have useful wings... otherwise their 'real' purpose in life ?! no clue LOL

Mayflies are also called shadflies and lake flies. They are aquatic insects. They are attracted to light.
