Leaving Waterton and on to BC

Before leaving this amazing park we rode a lovely but somewhat challenging, narrow trail through fields of grasses and wildflowers.

Long driving day but very smooth and scenic through the Beautiful BC mountains- no stopping for pictures as we had a goal of Midway, BC - fave spot 😊

Left a flag to commemorate our last stop on this amazing journey

On the way to Waterton....

Driving in eastern Alberta along Highway 3
took us through many farms and small farm
towns- another very pleasant drive. We took a slight detour at For Macleod to go to the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump historical site.

The story of the buffalo jump and the history of the Blackfoot was fascinating .  This jump was named for a young brave who didn't get away from the stampede of buffalo in time and went over the cliff with them.

The jump

Excellent museum telling the history

The plains

We camped in a small town named Cardston
Now on our way to Waterton Lakes National Park.
